We are so excited to be returning to Malibu Club Camp in Vancouver, BC! Barlow Young Life has a long-standing history of going to camp at Malibu, and we are thrilled to offer this experience to ALL of our students this summer (not just the high school seniors)!
Transportation to/from Malibu Club Camp (yes, that's the name) is still being sorted out. Please stay tuned for more information regarding this. But here is what we know so far:
We will travel by charter bus (a nice one!) through the night on July 7. We have to take TWO ferries to get to Malibu! The first is with the bus, then we drive two more hours to the second ferry, which is pedestrian only and will drop us off right at the camp. Yes, Malibu is remote! But it is also stunningly beautiful! We will also travel through the night on the return trip, and pick up will be sometime on July 14.
Because Malibu Club is so remote and there are so many moving parts, it is also more expensive. But we think it will be worth the extra effort! We are working hard to provide you all with more fundraisers to help with this cost. Please let Elisabeth or Taylor know if you think of any other fundraisers we can do! We are always open to suggestions. In addition, we will be suggesting payments by certain dates this year. We are available to chat if you need assistance in this area.
WE NEED AT LEAST 25 STUDENTS COMMITTED TO GOING (WITH A PAID $100 DEPOSIT) BY FEBRUARY 28 IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS TRIP HAPPEN! We are excited about going to Malibu, but it is going to take a lot of commitment and work by everyone to fundraise. If we do not have the required interest then we will not be able to go to Young Life camp this summer--SAD!
Lastly, Malibu Club Camp is in a different country--CANADA! We are REQUIRING that you have a passport for this trip. If you hold a passport book or card, check the expiration date--it cannot expire before Jan. 14, 2026.
Obtaining a Passport:
Click this link. Cost is around $130 and takes 6-7 weeks to arrive (plan ahead--that means you need to apply before the end of April). Consider fundraising for it!
If obtaining a passport is not an option for you, we have to talk to you ASAP! CALL ELISABETH at (503)522-8209. You can also call Taylor, but he will call Elisabeth, so you may as well just call her.
